i just watched this movie and i’m crying and these were some traits i picked out of this movie while watching that i quite enjoyed
that one dude suing his neighbor for wanting to build something that he just didn’t want to look at
when driving “blind” they followed the gps, i never would have thought of that
malorie walking into the supermarket and immediately opening and eating a bag of popcorn
malorie taking olympia’s daughter to make sure the baby’s okay before olympia died
malorie always having a string or whatever attached at one end of the boat or house, and the other attached to herself to let her know how to get back while blindfolded
tom having a shaved head but a full beard
malorie not naming the kids so they wouldn’t get attached
malorie not sacrificing ‘girl’ to save them
a 5 year old girl accepting her death to save her mother figure and ‘brother’ because she thought malorie liked him better than her
malorie and the kids reaching the community and malorie naming them… i promise i’m not crying
the community symbolizing the top of the tree in tom’s story
I was so mad by the negative reviews the movie got, because i thoroughly enjoyed it a lot! But then, Stephen King said this
👏👏👏
The movie has some flaws and I understand why some people might not have liked it, but I really loved it. I fucking hate kids and just about anything that has to do with them, but man, when ‘girl’ said she would do it because she knew malorie didn’t like her as much and thought malorie would pick her anyway… I was crying… The child actor was SO good in that scene, it felt so real to me.
I really enjoyed the characters and the whole motherhood storyline, I’ve always loved Sandra Bullock and she was really good in this movie - the plot wasn’t perfect and as a “horror” movie it wasn’t that scary, but it was easy for me to overlook all that cause everything else was so good.
most things that were used to kill or repel demons were just antibacterial or very healthy. bacteria can’t live for long on a silver surface. garlic is hella good for your immune system. holy water is water that you’re not allowed to shit in.
I don’t have a point I’m trying to make I just think it’s kinda cool where supernatural beliefs intersect with real science
Bacteria are demons
The entire set of rules on which foods are kosher or not is basically a guide on how to eliminate food poisoning in a pre-industrial society.
Salt is a disinfectant too.
Considering ancient people attributed disease to demonic possession, it makes sense they’d correlate antibacterial methods with anti-demonic ones.
Our ancestors weren’t stupid (not any stupider than us, at least), they just lacked the knowledge we have today.
My land lady is a 90lb 88 year old woman with 5 full grown Rottweiler boys. They sit around her when she gardens and watch her like the secret service. If you show up to pay rent they all stand up and stand between you and her.
It’s intimidating to have 5 pony size boys all staring at you until she stands up realizes it’a you and walks to you.
My favorite part is she wades through them like swamp water saying in her cute old voice ‘move’ ‘move please’ and each one she nudges to move wags his whole body at her touch and stumbles out of the way like he’s been knocked over by a truck. It gives me life paying my rent.
I am an advocate for a sexual assault hotline, and whenever major media sources cover things related to sexual abuse calls rise majorly. With all the talk on social media about the R. Kelly documentaries being released, I encourage everyone who needs it to contact the national (or their local) sexual assault hotline.
Imagine wanting to spend billions on something so easily circumvented.
I guess lefties think that illegal aliens can walk on water.
Wow, you’re right. There’s a huge flaw in my post, I forgot that humans have no way to get across water. Thanks for pointing that out, I’ll get right on deleting this.
